A working re-creation of Leonardo da Vinci's 15th Century "Aerial Screw".
Based on the inventors drawings from the Codex Atlanticus. This working recreation uses a bevel gear to spin the canopy and support structure, and bring to life the flying machine that Leonardo dreamed was possible.
The canopy and support structure of the "helicopter" - designed to be powered by four men (or in this case Lego figurines!) - can be removed for experimenting with your own helicopter or wing-type systems.
With accurate historic details, Pathfinder kits are renowned for their clever design and include quality materials.
Easy to assemble in about an hour, with pre-cut and drilled pieces for super-strong connection. Ideal for beginner model-makers.
Teaches principles of mechanics, physics and historical technology. Simple to follow with the help of detailed instructions - young inventors will relish reading about how the aerial screw would have worked.
