Genecon Due Electrolysis Apparatus
Water is made up of two elements that can also exist as gases. The electrolysis apparatus is used to demonstrate experiments in electrical charge/discharge and energy conversion. Use the GeneconDUE as a power source to separate water into its component gases.
The tank is molded in one piece from clear resin with platinum coated titanium electrodes sealed in place and the compact design makes these ideal for student use.
Age: 10+
What You Get
Genecon Due Electrolysis Apparatus. Main unit dimensions 140mm x 80mm x 80mm.
Parts Included:
- Electrolysis tank with graduated test tubes
How Does It Work?
Water decomposes into its component gases when a potential difference of 1.23V is applied. When this happens, the water breaks into hydrogen and oxygen gas. Hydrogen gas appears at the cathode and oxygen appears at the anode.
