Mensa Select Winner, Quixo is a brilliantly simple strategy game.
It is similar to Tic-Tac-Toe – with one player being crosses and the other circles, and with both trying to create a line of their symbol – but that's where the resemblance ends.
The pieces in the game are cubes that have a circle on one side, a cross on another, and blank faces on the other four.
Play with two players or in teams of two. Your aim is to line up 5 cubes in a row, pushing your lines of cubes horizontally or vertically.
Age: 6+
What you get
Quixo Mini by Gigamic. Includes 1 x board, 25 x pyrographed wooden cubes, 1 x cloth bag.
Plays with 2-4 Players in about 15 mins.
How does it work
The game starts with all 25 cubes placed in a 5 x 5 grid with a blank face upwards.
Taking it in turns each player/team removes one outer cube. Then rotates it so that their symbol is face up and returns it to the game. The player can choose which end of the incomplete row/column to return it then pushes the cube from the outside edge so the board is square once again.
The first to complete 5 in a row is the winner.
